With the rise of AI therapy tools, you might turn to a 24/7 AI chatbot you find on your app store—a virtual companion offering to guide you through tough times with support, coping strategies, and even a bit of therapy whenever you need it. Would you give it a try, or would you hesitate, wondering if it could truly understand you the way a human could? This scenario isn’t hypothetical anymore; it’s part of the evolving reality in mental health care. AI is making its way into the therapy world, but its role raises serious concerns about whether it can genuinely replace a human therapist or if it’s just another overhyped technological solution.

Because while chatbots can simulate therapeutic conversations, they can’t replace the interpersonal alliance and genuine understanding that human therapists and cats can provide.
